Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on ExifPixel reads and processes your files directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your images are never sent anywhere, which is why it works instantly and keeps your data private.
What is EXIF data?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is metadata your camera or phone embeds inside a photo — things like the camera model, exposure settings, date and time, and often GPS coordinates showing exactly where the picture was taken.
Does removing EXIF reduce image quality?
No. ExifPixel strips metadata at the binary level without re-compressing the image, so the pixel data stays byte-for-byte identical to the original. Only the hidden metadata is removed.
Which file formats are supported?
You can view metadata from JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, TIFF and most RAW formats. Lossless metadata removal is supported for JPEG, PNG and WebP.
Is ExifPixel free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits.
