Pixel dimensions, and why they matter
Most upload limits are written in pixels, not megabytes: a forum avatar capped at 200 × 200, a banner that must be exactly 1500 × 500, a print shop asking for the long edge to be at least 3000. Resizing is how you meet those numbers without opening an editor.
Shrinking an image is safe — detail is discarded but what remains stays sharp. Enlarging is not: there are no extra pixels to invent, so the result gets soft. This tool lets you enlarge if you need to, but it warns you when you cross above the original size rather than pretending the quality survives.
If your problem is the file size rather than the dimensions — a form that wants a photo under 100 KB — the compressor is the better tool, because it searches for the best quality that still fits your limit.
